INSECT NIGHT Walk
This free, public event organized by EGSA and Entomology staff is held at the Ohio State Wooster Campus. Join us at Secrest Arboretum on August 12, 2022 from 8 - 10PM to experience the hidden nightlife of insects at the 2022 Insect Night Walk!
After two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are very excited to bring back the Ohio State University's biggest insect-themed annual event. Kids and adults of all ages can attend for free to witness the beauty and diversity of night-flying insects, from glittering fireflies and singing crickets to huge, colorful moths and iridescent beetles.
This year, the Night Walk will feature a number of events and attractions including expert-led walks to insect-attracting traps and black lights, a petting zoo filled with exotic insects, insect-themed rock painting, raffles for a variety of items, and educational tables about the diversity of insect communication, life cycles, anatomy and more. Bring a flashlight, good walking shoes, and a clear plastic jar to collect insects.
Park at the Secrest Welcome Center.
