Previously, Tom studied drivers of interannual fluctuations in presence and associated economic damage of the redbanded stink bug, a non-native soybean pest, at Mississippi State University. Tom’s first research experience in entomology was during his time as an undergraduate student, working for a summer with the U.S. Forest Service on the destructive, non-native emerald ash borer. Outside of research, Tom plays his fair share of videogames, hikes, and enjoys playing his cello and ukulele.
