My interests in entomology started when I worked with Dr. Kinsman-Costello studying wetlands. Seeing how everything connected really excited me and with a background in wetland biology, soil biology, and biogeochemistry, learning more about entomology was the next best step for my career. At Kent State University, I worked on multiple projects with Dr. Kinsman-Costello including my own project where I investigated the link between wetlands and salt, attempting to answer the question "Where does salt go in the Summit Street Stormwater Wetland?". Once I graduated, I worked with Dr. Steven Culman at Ohio State University where I processed four years of data in R collected from the Gypsum & Lime Trial, a study looking at the effects of lime and gypsum applications to muck soil. Now, I am here working with Dr. Ashley Leach to work on various pest management projects! In my free time, I typically am found either hiking, writing, playing with my dog, or hanging out with my family!
