After graduating, Alden worked for Dr. Susan Jones as a lab assistant for a year, contributing to insect husbandry and data collection for her studies. He is currently a Master’s student in the Meuti lab, studying the seasonal initiation and termination of diapause of Culex species in central Ohio, and determining the genetic pathways associated with blood feeding in Cx. pipiens. When not researching, Alden is cooking or baking.
