Feb. 8, 2022
Dr. Reed Johnson's Beekeeping Class

Ohio State Entomology hopes to provide a "full-ride" undergraduate scholarship for in-state tuition and fees by creating the Entomology Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship Fund (#317434).

Scholarship preference given to students majoring in Entomology who demonstrate financial need, add diversity to the department, and/or contribute to nurturing a more diverse and inclusive departmental community.

If you want to contribute to this new scholarship, you can give online or you can contact Dept. Chair Jamie Strange at strange.54@osu.edu or the CFAES Office of Advancement.

Entomology Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship Fund (#317434)

Provides one or more scholarships to undergraduate students who are majoring in entomology with preference given to candidates who demonstrate financial need. Additional preference will be given to students who add diversity to the Department of Entomology and/or who actively contribute to nurturing a more diverse and inclusive community within the Department.

It is the Group’s desire to provide as significant financial support as possible, up to the cost of full in-state tuition and fees, to one eligible recipient. Any remaining distribution shall be used to provide as significant financial support as possible to additional eligible recipients. Scholarships are renewable as long as the recipients are in good standing with the University, meet the selection criteria and funding is available. If no students meet the selection criteria, the scholarship(s) will be open to all students studying in the Department.

If the unspent gifted balance of the Fund reaches the required endowment funding level of $100,000 at any time on or before February 28, 2027, the Fund shall be converted to an endowed fund and the annual distribution shall be used for the same purpose.
