Congratulations to all competitors on their excellent and impressive work, clearly a lot went into preparing the presentations and posters!
This year 4 students presented posters and 7 students presented ten-minute talks in preparation for the Entomological Society of America (ESA) Annual Meeting. OSU Entomology will be represented well at ESA!
DWIGHT DELONG COMPETITION
This award provides some support for students to attend professional meetings in entomology and other student-oriented departmental purposes to promote excellence in teaching and research. Established March 1, 1985, by family, friends, colleagues and former students of Dr. DeLong, Professor Emeritus of Entomology.

JACK & HELEN ROOT AGRICULTURAL/URBAN ENTOMOLOGY AWARD
This award provides support to graduate students studying agricultural or urban entomology to attend professional meetings. Jack and Helen Root established the Entomology Travel Endowment Fund on July 11, 2003.

The Entomology Department may award more than one DeLong award per category when travel funds permit. Students may only win the DeLong award once in each category (talk and poster).
