Beech leaf disease is an emerging threat to forest health in eastern North America. This disease is associated with a microscopic worm, or nematode, that is found in American beech (Fagus grandifolia) leaves and buds. Learn how to identify and report symptoms of beech leaf disease in your area. 

Multimedia: Box Tree Moth

Box tree moth is a non-native pest of boxwoods (Buxus spp.). The caterpillars feed on the foliage of boxwoods, causing dieback. Box tree moth poses a risk to the health of boxwoods in landscapes and nurseries.

Dr. Perry started as Assistant Professor in Forest Entomology in August 2022 and is based at the Wooster Science Building. Kayla’s research aims to understand how disturbances influence the structure and function of insect communities in natural and urban forests.
