Insect Night Walk

Join us for the annual Insect Night Walk!

July 25, 2025 from 8-10pm at the Wooster Science Building on the Ohio State CFAES Wooster Campus, 1600 Wilson Road, Wooster OH 44691, click here for a google map: go.osu.edu/WoosterScienceBuildingMap. 

This mid-summer night of insect fun is a free public event organized by our Entomology Graduate Student Association and Entomology Outreach staff to showcase the hidden nightlife of insects. Witness the beauty and diverse world of night-flying insects, from glittering fireflies and singing crickets to huge, colorful moths and iridescent beetles. Join us to pet a bee, dig insect fossils, create unique insect art, learn how insects sense the world, and win prizes!

Join the United Titanium Bug Zoo for a summer of insect fun

Stop by the bug zoo from 10am-12pm on any Wednesday or Friday this summer from May 28 - August 22, for an informal tour and chance to meet live insects. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions, help you handle bugs, and encourage your love on insects.

Celebrate Bugs with the BUGmobile at the 2nd annual New Albany BugFest!

Get ready to explore the amazing world of insects at BugFest!

Join us for a hands-on, family-friendly event where kids can get up close and personal with all kinds of bugs! Our own BUGmobile will be on site, packed with live insects and interactive exhibits that will spark curiosity and wonder.

Meet real entomologists, learn fascinating facts about your favorite creepy crawlies, and discover the important roles bugs play in our world. Plus, enjoy a variety of bug-themed vendors, crafts, games, and activities that will keep the whole family buzzing with excitement! This event is brought to you by Healthy New Albany in partnership with New Albany Parks and Recreation, and is designed to inspire curiosity, learning, and fun in a healthy, engaging environment.

Whether you’re a future scientist or just love things that squirm, BugFest is the ultimate insect adventure you won’t want to miss!

Story Time with the UTBZ

Join the UTBZ as they share their favorite insect stories!

Come 30 minutes early to our open houses on June 9th and Aug 15th for storytime. Bug Zoo staff will be sharing their very favorite insects stories. While these are geared for early elementary students, anyone is welcome.
