Over the last several seasons, we have seen a significant increase in scale attacks on our landscape trees and shrubs. We will cover the most important species and their management. Also, two important invasive pests need to be discussed: box tree moth that is attacking boxwoods and the spotted lanternfly. Landscape managers should know the symptoms of both pests and how to report newly discovered infestations. (ODA Category 6a)

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm Henry Rice & Shaohui Wu, Ph.D. – Monitoring and Management of Turfgrass Pests

Turfgrass health is subjective to various biotic stresses such as foliar, stem and below-ground feeding pests. The control efficacy often depends on the pesticide selection, timing of application, management practices, etc. This talk focuses on the monitoring and management of common insect pests in high-cut turfgrass. (ODA Category 8)
