This course covers insects and mites that attack landscape ornamental plants (trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals). Students learn to diagnose and identify common pests, and select appropriate management methods. Management strategies include monitoring techniques, pesticides, biocontrol, resistance, cultural/mechanical controls, in an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach.
Prereq: 1101, 1111, 3000, 4000, or 4600.
