Many of our courses feature a hands-on laboratory component and there are opportunities for students to specialize while fulfilling internships, exploring laboratory and field research, and enjoying student organizations.

These four tracks within our major are to be used as references and are flexible. Program requirements can change, so be sure to check with your academic advisor to ensure you are on the right track.

Sustainable Insect Management concentrates in the reduction of unwanted insects while maintaining the balance of those veneficial to an ecosystem.

This minor enriches professional opportunities for students pursuing a variety of degrees including biology, agronomy, horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture, pre-med and pre-vet. 

Students majoring in fields associated with natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, food production, ecology and agriscience education will be interested in Entomology because of the critical role insects play in natural and managed ecosystems.

Students majoring in fields associated with animal sciences, pre-veterinary medicine and public health will be interested in Entomology because of the critical role insects play in animal and human health.
